Happy 2022!

Welcome to 2022 and with it all your resolutions and wishes for this new year! At Toroto, we wish that the climate crisis did not exist and we set out to invite more people to join in seeking a future compatible with life. Unfortunately, this is not possible without first letting go of all the habits that led us to cause global warming.
We found a fable about India that makes it more than clear how letting go, sometimes, is the best thing we can do:
“One day, while an eagle was flying over the field, he saw a fish emerge on the surface of the water of a pond. He quickly plummeted and with extraordinary dexterity, he managed to capture the fish. Then he took flight again carrying the fish in his beak.
However, a flock of crows that had witnessed the scene rushed onto the eagle to try to snatch its prey from it. Normally the eagle is not afraid of crows, but there were many of them and their squawks were loud. The first ravens were joined by others.
The eagle tried to catch up the flight to escape, but the crows prevented him from doing so. They attacked her relentlessly. At a certain point, the eagle realized that it was all due to the fact that it was still clinging to the fish. Then he opened the spout and dropped it.
The crows rushed after the fish and the eagle was finally able to make it up the flight. Now I could fly lightly and freely. Always higher. With nothing to stop her. In peace”.
We want to invite you to reflect on those practices that are perhaps deeply rooted in our daily lives but that we can leave behind and improve: not buying as much plastic, using the car less, reusing, being a responsible consumer, eating less meat and requiring decision makers to adopt policies for the environment. Let's let go of the old-fashioned and harmful in this new year! Solutions exist, it's just a matter of implementing and scaling them, both individually and collectively.
