Specialized Technical Services Analyst, Water Solutions
General Objectives
- Support the implementation and fulfillment of water coordination goals.
- Support research, by documenting the methodological processes used in any analysis.
- Manage, process and download cartographic data useful in SWAT simulation.
- Obtain, organize and tabulate climate data relevant to SWAT analysis.
- Digitize and approve cartographic information for integration into databases.
- Download and process satellite images for land cover classification.
- Generate specific climate engines for SWAT simulation.
- Use R to perform calculations and analysis of geospatial data.
- Create maps, graphics and visual elements for reports and presentations of results.
Functions
With 1 year's experience In:
- Download and make cartographic material.
- Digitize and edit cartographic layers (land use, soil, hydrography, etc.).
- Download and process satellite images for supervised classification.
- Manually digitize soil at 1:50,000 scale, converting PDF charts to shapefile format.
- Organize and tabulate weather data from stations and remote sensors.
- Develop standardized matrix tables that standardize the information generated in the field, ensuring its compatibility and preparation as an input for hydrological modeling in SWAT.
- Investigate new methodologies to improve hydrological modeling processes.
- Automate hydrological and geospatial calculations using scripts and computational tools.
- Develop thematic maps and highly accurate cartographic products.
- Document technical procedures and develop reference manuals.
- Keep data processing and analysis protocols up to date.
- Manage and protect documentary, processed and photographic material, organizing it properly in Toroto's management tools to ensure its accessibility and conservation.

Requirements
Required:
- University degree: Agricultural, Forestry or Environmental Engineering, Geology, Hydrology, Degree in Geography.
- Capacity for scientific analysis and research.
- Domain of software for programming and statistical analysis.
- Mastery of software and tools for geographic information systems and remote sensing techniques.
Knowledge:
- Programming and automation of hydrological and geospatial calculations (Python or R).
- Advanced analysis and interpretation of geospatial data.
- The ability to execute hydrological simulations using the SWAT model is assessed.
- GIS tools: Advanced use of ArcGIS, QGIS for digitization and map creation.
- Technical communication.
- Ability to analyze and synthesize information.
